Recovery Point Objective

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Recovery Point Objective (RPO) describes the point in time to which data must be restored in order to successfully resume processing. This is often thought of as time between last backup and when outage occurred and indicates the amount of data lost.

The RPO in conjunction with the Recovery Time Objective (RTO) are the basis on which a data protection strategy is developed.
