Reconstruction (criminal investigation)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A reconstruction is a deliberate re-creation of a crime scene or incident, used by police and other investigative authorities in an attempt to jog the memory of witnesses to the event. Re-constructions of a crime scene in diagrammatic form may also be used in criminal court cases in an attempt to clarify information for a jury.
Reconstructions of this kind may take the form of re-enactments of an event performed by trained actors, or may take the form of a look-alike wearing similar clothing to a person involved in the incident (such as a missing person or murder victim).
