Recipient

A recipient is defined as an entity which receives a good or service. It can be a person, a group of persons, a company, an organization, or a government.

In the United States, the term is commonly, but not exclusively, used to refer to an entity which receives some sort of recognition, such as an award or a medal, or a gift.
