ANOTHER WORLD (2001) |
Rebirth is the title of Japanese rocker/singer Gackt's second album. It was released in 2001. Rebirth sees Gackt moving in a more experimental direction, working with quite varied arrangements, including the upbeat happiness of "marmalade" and the noise-rock opener "4th・・・". One single, released around the time of MARS, "鶺鴒〜seki-ray〜", appears on this album. Like MARS, with the exception of "Secret Garden", the singles released previous to the album's release appear in slightly different forms.

[edit] Notes
- In Japanese, "Rebirth" and "Reverse" are homonyms, as they use the same katakana to spell (and until recently, Japanese has used B- syllables for V- syllables) and do hint at a possible concept for the record.
- Like "Ares" from MARS, "4th・・・" is sung completely in a made-up dialect, while the liner notes contain printed lyrics.
- When asked about the title of "Papa lapped a pap lopped", Gackt said that if you said it to a "quick American", they'd catch on. Unfortunately, no-one has deciphered what the title means. The song is usually referred to as "Paparapa" in conversation.
