Rebel Youth

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rebel Youth is the name of the magazine of the Young Communist League of Canada published in the late 1980s and restarted in 2005. The name Rebel Youth was coined from Cuba's youth newspaper, 'Juventude Rebelde'. It was adopted after the publication's previous title, New Horizons had to be dropped due to a complaint from the federal government that was, at the time, operating a housing program with the same name.

Rebel Youth now exists as a bilingual magazine representing the Canadian YCL.

Rebel Youth Network, which took name from the magazine, was an organizing committee that tried to unite various youth organizations from around Canada, Quebec and the First Nations.
