[edit] The Smashing Pumpkins

  • Great. Of course, an addition of "According to SmashingPumpkins.com" would have saved us a lot of trouble. That's called "citing a source". Danny Lilithborne 22:40, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
Oh well, as WesleyDodds pointed out, it is already metioned in the first paragraph of the section. We were both too blind to see that. --Reaper X 01:12, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] inhunt.com

It would probably be better to add it to the spam blacklist, as there isn't really a list of words that he automatically reverts (which would be impossible because of articles like fuck), just some that he reverts if it's too big of a percentage of the edit or something (don't really remember, haven't been on the dev wiki in over a month because I forgot the URL :o) --Rory096 20:53, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sidebar on Userpage

Hey, just a quick question...all that info you have on your main userpage as a sidebar (Canadian etc.) where did you get that/how can I get one myself? Its very neat! :: ehmjay 05:08, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your VandalProof Application

Dear Reaper X,

Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact with the new 1.2 version release it has even more power. As such we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that for security reasons, VandalProof's creator requires its users to have made 250 edits to mainspace articles, which you have not (see under main here). Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. - Glen 06:51, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

I wasn't aware I had so few mainspace edits until I used Interiot's Tool2, but I plan to apply again after I obtain enough edits, hopefully soon!

[edit] Altnerative music COTW

Oh, basically we were deadlocked for a while and it kind of fell to the wayside. However, now that we have a clear idea of what to wrk on, maybe we can get it going. Xinit was the one who set it up; you should message him as to how to organize this. WesleyDodds 21:58, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

I blame the whole Red Hot Chili Peppers WP:EL fiasco for making me take a bit of an undocumented WikiBreak, but I'm going to do some work in the next bit on templates to denote articles in progress, etc. We'll go all official in short order. -- Xinit 22:33, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sandbox

That's OK, I was only checking to make sure it worked before I muffed up an article. I didn't know it showed up on a special page. Sorry about that. I'll have to remember to remove tags after I test them. Take it easy. •Jim62sch• 20:31, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome to VandalProof!

Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, Reaper X! You have now been added to the list of authorized users, so if you haven't already, simply download and install VandalProof from our main page. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or any other moderator, or you can post a message on the discussion page. Computerjoe's talk 15:39, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:WikiProject Punk music

Whats up? Hi, I'm trying to gather some more interest and support for the Wikipedia:WikiProject Punk music. Please check out the topics and lets get our WikiProject to function better. I've taken an interest in the Wikipedia:WikiProject hip hop and I consider that WikiProject to be better developed. Hopefully we can all work together to improve articles relating to punk. Also, I am trying to gather support and opinions concerning the punk house article and specifically the Theta Beta Potata article which is currently in AfD (x2) at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Theta Beta Potata (second nomination). Please check it out and voice your opinion. Xsxex 06:55, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wipers

Hey, noticed your work on Greg Sage/Wipers album and the discography, nice job. I think that the seperate discography page could be deleted and integrated to the articles. Both the Greg Sage and Wipers article are near stubs at this moment. I'm sure the discographys would be fine for now and the future on the right pages. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by NCase (talkcontribs).

[edit] my toolbox

yeah, i sorta saw that toolbox being a little problem. heres what i did: i used the 'subst:' tag, and then manually removed all the category tags. in this way i can keep the template name AND what it looks like, without clogging category lists that need to be watched/maintained. if there is anything else i should do, or this doesn't do what you wanted, let me know. cheers. JoeSmack Talk 19:08, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikify

Thanks. I was trying to put the box on without getting it on the page, so the students would see the tag, but the rest of folks wouldn't. I failed, I guess. Thanks for getting rid of it. --GumbyProf: "I'm about ideas, but I'm not always about good ideas." 21:31, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Dawson-college-cp-1850805.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Dawson-college-cp-1850805.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 21:08, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Dawson Image

No bother. The easy way to do it is to use a {{fairusein|<pagename>}} tag, if you think the image illustrates the subject of the article well. Always works for me. :) Archibald99 21:41, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Hello Reaper X. Thanks for removing the tedious comment on my userpage.Gimboid13 01:58, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Problem with ReaperBot X

What part of my edit did you find offensive? 80.237.206.62 02:57, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikiproject Album spectrum vote update.

Hello,

This is to inform you that the recent vote to update the spectrum used for album infoboxes passed. However, there are some follow-on discussions to fine tune one or two of the categories. Any constructive feedback you can provide would be greatly appreciated. --Cheers, Folajimi (leave a note) 13:36, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Northwest Ordinance.

I semi-protected the site, just so they'd stop for a few minutes. Will that work for anyone other than an admin, though? Given the sheer amount of edits, it seems to be a school ip. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by HalfShadow (talkcontribs).

Yeah, sorry. I noticed I hadn't but it had already auto-signed it. I'll unprotect the page in a bit, it's just so we don't have to revert it every minute or so. HalfShadow 19:45, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Expansion of hard rock wikiproject

Hello Reaper X, I think that is a fantastic idea. Could please help me with expansion of the wikiproject. DJJJ 20:13, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Sure man, go ahead. DJJJ 16:48, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

BTW, do you think we should re send the participants messages on their talk page. DJJJ 19:00, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Doesn't matter

Anyway now I'm mostly focused in the Greek Wikipedia and I use my english account only for minor edits like Intewikis. --Noumenorian 18:24, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright problems with Image:MartinPaul Lib.jpg

An image that you uploaded, Image:MartinPaul Lib.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

[edit] Glory Times

You changed the release date for the Portishead album Glory Times from June 1995 to 1998. Why? As far as I have been able to determine it was released in 1995. Or have you found some more reliable information elsewhere?

--Sebras 21:56, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] new RFC

You may be interested to know that an RFC has recently been initiated regarding Fair use images of Canadian politicians. Many images of Canadian politicians are about to be deleted, including ones you have uploaded. Please feel free to participate. - Mcasey666 03:51, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Straw Poll

The straw poll is a good idea, but please be careful when moving comments. You changed the question, effectively reversing the meaning of my first sentence. *Sparkhead 21:18, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A Voadener, eh?

I see you're on the student's council, but can you put a name to your... username? I don't remember anyone by the name of Reaper X. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Echeese (talkcontribs).

Alright then, I guess we could work on it. --Echeese 14:41, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Melissa Auf der Maur.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Melissa Auf der Maur.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Yamla 19:01, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Billy Corgan - Tribune Ad.jpg

I've re-tagged this image as orphanded. If you believe it's absolutely nessesary to be eable to read the text then write a solid fair use rationale explaining that and use it directly in the article (or link to an off-site version). It's ridicoluos to have a thumbnail version "to complay with fair use requirements" in the article and then keep the high-resolution version around anyway, it defeats the whole point. --Sherool (talk) 00:39, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Puddle of Mudd

I got all of the information for the Puddle of Mudd article from this link. I'm not very good at citing sources so I was wondering whether you could do the job for that particular article. Jason f90 04:52, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
