Real **********ing Talk
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Real **********ing Talk is a recurring skit on MADtv and is considered to be a show-within-a-show. The show is a spoof of other forum-style shows such as Hardball with Chris Matthews and Real Time with Bill Maher. However, unlike other talk shows, Real **********ing Talk is known for its excessive use of (censored) foul language. The skit premiered in the ninth episode of MADtv's seventh season.
It is implied that the "censored" portion of the title is motherfucking.

[edit] Host
Real **********ing Talk is a political talk show where the show's panel discuss current events. The host of Real **********ing Talk is Dollar Bill Montgomery (Aries Spears), who appears in every episode of the show. His personality is sharp, sassy and borderline belligerent. Montgomery's moderating style is a parody of other "sassy" political talking head moderators like Bill Maher, Chris Matthews, John McLaughlin and Bill O'Reilly. However, unlike aforementioned moderators, Montgomery uses foul language to insult his guests (in particular the "token white guest" and Woogie Johnson, played by Tommy Davidson).
[edit] Guests
The general format of Real **********ing Talk with Dollar Bill Montgomery is one host (Bill Montgomery) and three guest who are suppose to serve as the "talking heads." Two of the three guests on Real **********ing Talk with Bill Montgomery are usually African Americans with and the remaining guest is usually the "token white" guest.
[edit] The African-American guests
The African American guests usually appear to be based off of many cultural stereotypes and they use ethnic slang to convey their points. However, many other of these guests surprise the audience by making well articulated responses to the issues which Montgomery pose to them. The African American guests are portrayed by the black members of the MADtv cast as well as various rap and comedy guest stars. The list of African American guests are as follows:

[edit] The token white guests
At least one "token white" guest has appeared in all but one episode of Real **********ing Talk with Dollar Bill Montgomery. The white guest tends to be very well educated but "tightly strung" in regards to their personality. The token white guests tend to be fictional commentators who are parodies of ultra-conservative political commentators like Pat Buchanan (as in the case of Gene St. John) or the ultra-liberal political commentators like Michael Kinsley (as in the case of Barry Gordon). Generally the "Token White" guests say or do something that leads to the others treating them with violent assault .Bill Maher was the only token white guest to play himself on the show (as well as the only token white guest whom Dollar Bill seemed to take any liking to) and Will Sasso was the only person to impersonate a real political figure on the show. The list of "Token White" guests are as follows:
- Scott Oglevee (Andrew Daly, Episodes #709 and 718)
- Francis Michael McKrovsky (Michael McDonald, Episodes #804, 902, 915, 1009, and 1021)
- Gene St. John (Fred Willard, Episodes #819 and 925)
- Bill Clinton (Will Sasso, Episode #818)
- Barry Gordon (Ron Pederson, Episode #1003)
- Bill Maher (as himself, Episode #1006)
- Martha St. John-McKrovsky (Spencer Kayden, Episode #1021).

- MADtv Episode #709 is the only show where there was no stated topic for Real **********ing Talk.
- MADtv Episode #1021 is the only episode of Real **********ing Talk to feature more than one "token white" guest.
- Dollar Bill Montgomery made a cameo appearance in the MADtv music video, "Hey MAD" (which parodies OutKast's popular hit "Hey Ya!"). The video, which celebrated MADtv's 200th episode, starred Orlando Jones as Andre 3000 and other reccurring MADtv characters, including John Madden (Frank Caliendo), Connie Chung (Bobby Lee), Marvin Tikvah (Michael McDonald), Penelope "Dot" Goddard, (Stephnie Weir) and Mrs. Leona Campbell (Stephnie Weir).
- Bill Maher made a cameo appearance on Real **********ing Talk's Thanksgiving Special which occurred on the sixth episode of MADtv's 10th-season. This was ironic, as Real **********ing Talk is a spoof loosely based off of Real Time with Bill Maher.
- Dollar Bill Montgomery is the only character to interact or be featured with every African-American MADtv cast member (Phil LaMarr, Orlando Jones, Debra Wilson, Danielle Gaither, Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key) up to, and including, the tenth season. Montgomery has not been featured in any skits with Nicole Randall Johnson because she was added to the cast during the start of the eleventh season and Aries Spears left the show at the end of the tenth season.
