[edit] Description
R-3 is a small, skinny humanoid mecha. It seems frail, but at the same time, well off enough to do combat. It is mostly orange-red.
[edit] Technical and historical
The SRX Project spawned in an attempt to counter existing threats to the Earth required a set of robots to combine to form the mighty machine that would become Super Robot Type-X (SRX). This began the development of the R-Series mecha. One of the mecha of the series which is meant to form the chest and arms of SRX is the Real Personal Trooper Type-3, or R-3. The R-3 was an important aspect of the R-Series mecha because its T-LINK System would serve as the main system for SRX. Because it was such an important component, much effort was put into its creation. The R-3 was made as a high speed support attack unit. Because of this, armor was sacrificed which was why the R-3 was so thin compared to most Personal Troopers.
The R-3's pilot is Aya Kobayashi, the field captain of the SRX Team. She is a very powerful psycho-driver who is immediately able to take advantage of R-3's psychic weapons. Later on, the R-3 is outfitted with "Plus Parts" to create R-3 Powered. The Plus Parts are a large module that R-3 is docked into. This module can become the legs of SRX when the combination sequence is done. R-3 Powered uses a T-LINK Flight System to allow it to fly. It also carries multiple Telsa Drives that will allow SRX to fly when the combination sequence is done.
After the war with the Aerogator army from the Balmar Empire in Super Robot Wars Alpha, the R-Series mecha were dismantled one by one. But, as the Balmar begin their full-on invasion of the Balmar Empire begins in Super Robot Wars Alpha 3, the R-Series mecha are rebuilt. The SRX, however, is destroyed by Hazal Gozzo. During this time, however, the project to build SRX Altered Banpreios is in the works, and in the process an R-3 Altered is to act as a part of the unit. However, the combining plan is cancelled so instead of three separate units, Banpreios is built as a single, inseparable unit (although the 3 units still exist in the design, allowing the feature to be activated in the future).
