Ray Mickens

Ray Mickens (born January 4, 1973 in Frankfurt, Germany) is a current American Football cornerback in the National Football League for the New England Patriots. Mickens played for the New York Jets from 1996 to 2004. He played the 2005 season for the Cleveland Browns before re-signing with the Jets on May 31st, 2006. Mickens was eventually waived when rosters were reduced to the 53 men following their last pre-season game.
Mickens played college football at Texas A&M University where he was a All-American in both his junior and senior seasons before being drafted in the third round by the Jets in the 1996 NFL Draft. Mickens was mainly used as a nickel back for the Jets and only missed two games in his first eight seasons before missing the 2004 season with the Jets because of a torn ACL.
Mickens was released by the Jets after they signed Ty Law. He signed a one year contract with the Browns as a free agent prior to the 2005 season and played in all 16 games, making 33 tackles.
As a member of the New York Jets, Ray Mickens won the Madden Bowl in 1999.
