Ray Kelvin

Born in 1956, North London, Raymond S. Kelvin founded the Ted Baker clothing line in 1988, when he opened up a men's shirt shop called Ted Baker in Glasgow.

Since the opening of that store, it has gone on to become one of the most prolific clothing designs in the world. Going from one shop in Glasgow to a multi-million selling global franchine. Ray regularly turns up in the Times Rich List where he has an estimated personal fortune of £95 million.

In 1993, Ray married actress Georgia Slowe. The following year, their first son Benjamin was born followed 18 months later by their second son, Joshua. The marriage, however, ended when Georgia filed for divorce. It was finalised in 2000. His ex-wife took a 12 year break from her own career to raise their children, primarily by herself after the couple split.
