Ray Ban Aviator
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Ray Ban Aviator is a type of sunglasses manufactured by the Ray Ban brand of Bausch & Lomb, which was sold in 1999 to the Luxottica Group.
Created in 1936, the glasses were developed specifically for pilots and were used by the military. In 1937, they were made available to the general public. The popularity of the film Top Gun, in which Aviators were used by lead characters, led to their sales increasing by forty percent.[citation needed]
