Rawalpindi District

Rawalpindi district contains the city of Rawalpindi. The district has an area of 5,286 kmĀ² and a population of about 3,363,911 people of which 53.03% were urban in 1998. It is thus the second-most advanced district in Punjab. [1]
It was part of Rawalpindi Division.

Gujar Khan is the heart of Potohar region and is also called the land of Shaheed. The region had produced people from all professionals of life. Two recipients of Nishan-i-Haider were belong to Gujar Khan. Futhermore, two Lieutenant General from Pakistan Army and a former Navy Chief belong to Gujar Khan.
