Ravina II

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ravina II was a rabbi of the Talmud who, in 475 CE, together with his teacher Rav Ashi, collected and commented upon the Gemara of what would henceforth be known as the Babylonian Talmud. He also happened to be a nephew of Ravina I. He ruled for 22 years. His father died when he was young, so his mother taught him. He is famous for redacting and finishing the Talmud.
