Rattlesnake Round-Up

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sweetwater Rattlesnake Round-Up, the world's largest rattlesnake round-up, occurs every second weekend in March. Run by the Sweetwater Jaycees, the Round-Up was begun in order to reduce the large population of Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes. Along with multiple snake pits with safety presentations, visitors can see milking demonstrations and snake-skinning. Visitors to the Round-Up may also go on snake hunting expeditions, browse the wide array of Flea Market booths, or visit the carnival. The Sweetwater Rattlesnake Round-Up draws thousands of visitors every year. The cost is $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for children.
