Rathmore (Irish: An Ráth Mhór, meaning "the big Ringfort") is a small town in Kerry, Ireland, lying about 1 km west of the border with Cork. It lies at the heart of the Sliabh Luachra area famed for its traditional Irish music and culture. Famous family names of the area include O'Connor, McCarthy, McAuliffe, Moynihan, and O'Leary.
Gaelic Football is also very popular in this area and the town has had several players play for the Kerry team. The town has two primary schools: a convent for girls and a boy's school. The secondary school "Scoil Phobail Sliabh Luachra" provides an excellent education for teenagers living in the local area and villages. The school is celebrated for its high standard of education, sporting achievements and value in its students. Cadbury's chocolate factory is also located in Rathmore and the Mallow-Tralee railway line passes the town.
