Rathi

Rathi or Rath is a clan of Rajputs found in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh in India. Raja Brihdval was a king of this clan during Mahabharata. In medieval period there was rule of Rath rulers in Malwa, Kathiawar, Gaya, Budaun, various Eastern Regions of Gujarat, etc. There is a large population of Rathi clan kshatriyas in Loharu, Khetri of Jhunjhunuwati, Didwana and Kalipahari in Alwar. They are also found in Jind, Patiala, and Rohtak districts.
Rathi's are now also a prominent business caste belonging to the Maheshwari community of Rajasthan.

Rathi also is the name of wife of Manamadhan, the god of love in Hindu mythology. Rathi and Manmadhan are responsible for LOVE mood.
