Rasul Kudayev

Rasul Kudayev is a Russian citizen who was held in extrajudicial detention in the United States Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, in Cuba.[1] Kudayev is a muslim from Kabardino-Balkaria.

In 1995, while a young teenager, Kudayev won wresting championship.[1] His mother and brother stated that, in 2000, while still a teenager, Kudayev traveled to Central Asia, to advance his sports career.

Kudayev, and six other Russian Guantanamo detainees, were repatriated to Russia, were they faced charges of illegal border crossing, being members of a criminal group and being a mercenary in an armed conflict. [2]
