Rasa (contemporary devotional music)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rasa is a musical collaboration between an American singer and a German cellist, which draws heavily on Indian devotional music (see also: Bhajan) and classical Western music.

Rasa was formed in 1998 by multi-instrumentalist, Hans Christian, and Kim Waters, a singer, illustrator and devotee of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

Waters and Christian have released five full-length albums under the name, ""Rasa,"" all of them focusing on various themes in classical Hindu religion and mythology. Rasa's most recent release, Temple of Love (New Earth Records, 2006) is a tribute to the temples at Khajuraho, India.
