Raphael House
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Raphael House is a shelter providing transitional housing and comprehensive support programs for homeless parents and their children since it was established in 1971 as the first shelter in San Francisco, California for homeless families.
Raphael House is dedicated to helping at-risk children and their families achieve stable housing and financial independence, while strengthening family bonds and personal dignity [1].
Raphael House formerly also had an ancillary facility, the popular (and profitable) breakfast café Brother Juniper's Restaurant, from 1979 until 1999, at which time the expense of renovating its kitchens and the need for additional space for the After School Tutorial Center combined to require its closure.
