Raoul Jobin

Raoul Jobin (born Joseph Roméo) (April 8, 1906 – January 13, 1974) was a Canadian tenor, professor, administrator and senior civil servant.
Born in Quebec City, Quebec, during the 1930s and 1940s, he performed in Canada, the United States, South America, Europe and North Africa. In 1957 he became a professor at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec in Montreal and Quebec City and from 1961 to 1970 he was the director. From 1970 to 1973, he worked for the Quebec government as a cultural consultant.
In 1967 he was made a Companion of the Order of Canada.
In 2001, Raoul Jobin was honoured as a MasterWorks (video clip) by the Audio-Visual Preservation Trust of Canada.
