Ranjan Wijeratne

Ranjan Wijeratne was Sri Lanka's deputy defense minister from 1989 to 1991 in the Ranasinghe Premadasa cabinet.
He was assassinated on 2 March 1991, in Colombo while travelling to his office, by a remote controlled bomb. He was known to have a hardline stance towards the Tamil extremist group, LTTE.
