Ranipettai is a city and a municipality in Vellore district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Ranipettai had a population of 47,236. Males constitute 49% of the population and females 51%. Ranipettai has an average literacy rate of 79%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 83%, and female literacy is 74%. In Ranipettai, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
