From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Ji (1878-1961) was a Sikh saint who wrote extensively on Gurbani and the Sikh way of life. Bhai Sahib (as he is respectfully addressed) was born and died in Narangwal, Punjab, and founded the Akhand Keertanee Jathaa.

He passed away on Vaisakhi, April 13, 1961, due to spending so much time in dark cells while prisoner of the British. Bhai Sahib had an extremley peacefull passing, an eye-witness' account can be found here http://www.tapoban.org/phorum/read.php?f=1&i=76683&t=76683#reply_76683

The Akhand Keertanee Jathaa is dedicated to the Sikh lifestyle. The Jathaa follows a strict discipline in keeping the Rehit of Guru Gobind Singh Jee. They also enjoy an active style of Keertan recited by Sikhs in a collective manner in front of Sree Guru Granth Sahib Jee. This style of Keertan is relatively simple, and the entire congregation devotionally participates in singing along. Bhai Sahib Bhai Randheer Singh Jee embodied this lifestyle of strict personal discipline. He wrote many articles on Gurbaanee and the Sikh Lifestyle which we hope will inspire you as they have many of us. He was a dedicated Gursikh who fought injustice and always remained in Chardee Kalaa (high spirits).
