Randel McCraw Helms is a writer and historian. Professor at Arizona State University in Tempe and teaches courses in the Bible as literature, world literature and 19th century romantic literature.

He is the author of the books Who Wrote the Gospels? (ISBN 0-9655047-2-7), Gospel Fictions (ISBN 0-87975-572-5), and Tolkien's World (ISBN 0-586-04365-9).
