Rancho Cucamonga High School (RCHS) is a public high school in Rancho Cucamonga and is part of the Chaffey Joint Union High School District. Rancho Cucamonga High School was opened in the fall of 1992 to roughly 1,500 students. The school opened with no senior class. As the city of Rancho Cucamonga has grown, so has the size of the school. In 2002, RCHS housed a record number of 3090 students, but with the opening two new high schools within the district, the overflow pressure of students was relieved. Currently, there are approximately 2,800 students enrolled at RCHS.

Rancho Cucamonga High School was awarded the distinction as one of California's Distinguished Schools in 1997 and in 2003.In 1998 RCHS was nominated to as a California Blue Ribbon School. RCHS became a digital school in 1999.

Rancho Cucamonga is relatively diverse school, considerably more so than other high schools within the San Bernadino County. The minority population of the school has grown with time, and the population of RCHS has diversified accordingly. While in 2000, 53 percent of students were white, in 2004 this number had dropped to 38 percent. Currently, Hispanics make up about 32 percent of the student body, followed by African Americans with 15 percent, and Asians with 5 percent. 8 percent of Rancho Cucamonga High School students belong to other minority subgroups.

Rancho Cucamonga High School supports a variety of athletic activities, including football, soccer, waterpolo, wrestling,tennis, and volleyball, as well as many other sports. The RCHS football team are the undefeated champions of the Baseline League . The school sports teams has a history of rivalry with Los Osos High School.

RCHS has a AFJROTC unit residing, CA-942. The Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI) is Lieutenant Colonel Donald Harvell and the Aerospace Science Instructor (ASI) is Senior Master Sergeant Kurt Lester. The RCHS AFJROTC has recently won fourth place at the Fontana High School Drill meet. There were over 100 units of Marine Corps , Navy , Army and Air Force JROTC.
