Ralph Milne

Ralph Milne (born 13 May 1961) was a Scottish professional footballer who played for Dundee United, Charlton Athletic, Bristol City and Manchester United. Ralph scored some spectacular goals early in his career and had exceptional acceleration. That was probably what Alex Ferguson remembered when he brought Milne to Old Trafford in the late '80s but the magic was gone by then. Ralph had been a bit of a scourge of Aberdeen FC during Ferguson's time there. Ralph is also Dundee United's all time top scorer in Europe with an impressive tally of 14 in all competitions -UEFA and European Cup. On his day Ralph Milne was unstoppable and possessed a great finish with either foot or even, occasionally, with his head. Whilst the latter stages of the player's career were perhaps hampered by off-field activities no Dundee United supporter will forget Ralph Milne's contribution to early '80s successes both in Europe and on the domestic front.
