Ralph E. Church

Ralph Edwin Church, a U.S. Congressman, was born in Vermilion County, Illinois on May 5, 1883. He died in office on March 21, 1950. Church, a Republican, represented the 10th and 13th Congressional districts of Illinois in the U.S. Congress. Congressman Church was also a candidate for U.S Senator in 1940. He was a member of the American Bar Association, Delta Chi, and Phi Kappa Psi. He was married to Marguerite Church, whom upon his death was appointed to his Congressional seat. Marguerite Church went on to hold the seat for six terms of her own.
The Churches are buried in Memorial Park, Skokie, Illinois.
