Rajiv is a common male Indian name, originating in the South Asian country of India. The name means 'lotus flower' in Hindi, and can also be spelled Rajeev. In Sanskrit, the word means 'striped'.
Apart from Rajiv Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India, several famous people have the first name "Rajiv."
