Rail Magazine
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rail is a British magazine on the subject of railway transport. It is published approximately twice monthly and is available in the transport sections of many British shops, especially WH Smith.
Rail has been published for over 25 years, originally under the title Rail Enthusiast, and remains a leading railway magazine. It has roughly the same cover design for over 10 of those years with a capitalised slanting red 'RAIL' written prominently along the top of the front cover.
[edit] Controversy
Rail is sometimes referred to as 'liar' within the rail enthusiast community due to a number of controversial articles. Referring to the magazine by this name was common for a while at the East Lancashire Railway after the magazine reported one of its trains travelling at more than 50mph. Whether or not the claim is true remains disputed.
