Rahul started One Buck Short with Hafiz back when they were in Maz International School in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. The first song they wrote when they started the band was called ‘Enemies till the End’. Then came songs like ‘Lights On’ and later on, 'That Day’. Rahul is well known for playing guitar solos with many very short notes, often having to use just his fingernails to play. The only song recorded that Rahul has not played the guitar solo to, was Christmas Morning, which was played by his guitar teacher (Zack AKA The Mouse) that he named an EP after (Where's The Mouse!?).
