Ragheb Alama (Arabic:راغب علامة) is one of the most celebrated singers in the Arab world, spanning a successful career of 15 years. In the new millennium, Ragheb's splendid comeback was in Badi doub with the then-rising singer Elissa. A year later, in 2003, Ragheb released Tab Leih? (Oh Why?) under the recording label Alam El Phan. The only single, the title track, entered the No.1 spot in no time, and was his most celebrated success to date. In the end of 2004, after a long delay, the pop icon released Al Hob el-Kabir (The Great Love), which was a celebrated hit as well. He also co-performed the hit Yallah Ya Shabab with Andy.
In July 2005, his 2nd single from Great Love, the title track, premiered on Melody Hit. The music video, directed by Wissam Smayra, was shot in Malaysia. The single was less popular than previous tracks; it did however make the Top 40 on the radio pop charts, but failed to make an impression on the ringtone charts.
In 2005, Ragheb released Greatest Hits 2002-2005 to mark the end of his contract with Alam El Phan. While he has not had enough hits in that time to cover a whole album, non released songs were included, which shows why the album should have been named Best of Ragheb Alama 2002-2005.
