Rafael Jerome Pérez (born May 15, 1982) is currently a relief pitcher for the Cleveland Indians.
Pérez was born 1982 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Signed as an undrafted free agent by the Indians in 2002, the left-handed pitcher has quickly become one of the top pitching prospects in the Cleveland organization.
After successful campaigns in Burlington and Lake County, Pérez dominated the Carolina League with Kinston and the Eastern League with the Akron Aeros in 2005.
Pérez made his major league debut on April 20, 2006 against the Baltimore Orioles, pitching an inning of hitless relief.
