Rael (character)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rael is a character in Genesis' 1974 concept album The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. Rael is presented as a half-Puerto Rican punk kid. The story of his character is played out in Times Square, New York City, New York. The imagery of the song is, however, more supernatural and ambiguous. Through the course of the album, Rael goes through a subconscious self discovery, which includes confronting death, falling in love, sexual gratification, and castration.
Rael is also a country that appears in two songs, 'Rael 1' and 'Rael 2' on The Who Sell Out by the Who, released in 1967.
