Hospital Radio Station, Radio Redhill is the winner of the 2005 Station of the Year award at the Hospital Broadcasting Awards and countless other accolades, Radio Redhill broadcasts to the patients and staff of the East Surrey Hospital in Redhill, Surrey. It is available on 1287AM and on the hospital's internal radio system.
Radio Redhill (like all Hospital Radio stations) provides a valuable service to the patients and staff at the East Surrey Hospital. Broadcasting 24 hours a day, Radio Redhill has request programs from 8.30 - 10pm Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 12pm Sundays. A request programme dedicated to classical music is broadcast each Sunday evening at 7pm. There are a wide variety of other programs including local and national news, classical programs, talk, relaxing tunes, factual, music related and birthday stars.
Radio Redhill not only has a state of the art broadcasting studio and a newsroom but also a vast collection of records and training/recording studio.
As well as management roles, there are many different roles someone working at Radio Redhill can take. These are: Producer, Broadcaster, Programme Assistant and Request Collector. An 8 week broadcaster training is given to programme assistants while they continue with weekly broadcasts.
