Radio Patrol

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Radio patrol was a police comic strip that ran from 1933 to 1950 in the dailies, and from 1934 to 1946 in the Sundays. The main characters were Sgt. Pat, his partner Sam, and police woman Molly Day.

The strip is notable for its serious and realistic tone, with little evidence of the fantastic or supernatural. The realistic bent even included the strips geography with accurate depictions of Boston and the New England country side.

The strip was adapted into different media, like many comic strips of the day. A radio show began in the 1930s and a movie serial in 1937, starring Grant Withers.
