Radio Farda

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Radio Farda is a Persian language radio station based in the Czech capital Prague. Supported by the U.S. government, Radio Farda broadcasts political, cultural, social and art news with emphasis on Iran (Persia).

Radio Farda's website has been blocked by Iranian government. The name "Farda" means "tomorrow" in Persian.

It has been criticized by American politicians for largely broadcasting only American pop music, rather than news, political commentary, and pro-democracy propaganda, for which it was intended. [citation needed]
