Nic Nolan has had a long and varied career in electronic media. Since 2004 he’s been Programme Director of Adelaide’s most popular News/Talk radio station FIVEaa. Before that, for 16 years, Nic anchored breakfast news on Perth’s number one rating radio station, MIX 94.5 a station listened to each week by more than half a million people. Nic started his media career at LBC, a Newstalk radio station in London, while still at high school. He went on to gain an honours degree in Communications before moving to New Zealand. Nic spent seven years with the Broadcasting Corporation of New Zealand, working extensively in radio as a presenter of music and entertainment programmes, news and current affairs with a heavy emphasis on radio commercial and promotions production. During this period, Nic was also involved in the genesis of New Zealand’s Newstalk-ZB radio network, was a freelance television continuity announcer with New Zealand’s TV ONE, hosted a number of television specials and was appointed to the New Zealand Film Censorship Board of Review. A six-month assignment followed, as Australia’s Hoyts Radio Network London News Correspondent. A holiday stopover in Western Australia, saw Nic hired to read morning news on Perth’s Channel 7 for two years, at the same time starting his breakfast news-anchoring role at 6KY (now MIX 94.5). Nic also read news for Perth’s Channel 9. Nic, born 1 May 1958, loves current affairs, politics, music, movies, and has a passion for media.
