Beyond Belief: Radio Programme

Beyond Belief is a radio programme that is typically broadcast on BBC Radio 4 at 4: 30 p.m. (UK time) on a Monday afternoon. It typically features several people, representing different faith traditions, who have been invited in to discuss a religious issue. Christian, Jewish, Islamic and Pagan speakers have all appeared on the programme. Examples of topics discussed include the question of the feminine in the Divine, largely inspired by the popularity of the novel The Da Vinci Code; and rites related to cremation and burial. On October 9 2006, the subject of the programme was divorce, and featured representatives of Methodism, Roman Catholicism and Judaism.
