Rachel Gatina

Rachel Gatina (whose name has been spelled on the show as Gatina four times since the final episode of season three) is a fictional character on the CW television series One Tree Hill, played by Danneel Harris.
Rachel Gatina is the new girl at Tree Hill High School in season three. She at first has a crush on Lucas Scott (Chad Michael Murray) which begins a long rivalry between her and Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush). Although she later decides to cut it off when she realises he's only using her to get Brooke jealous. She quickly becomes a cheerleader and tries to become the head of them by sending Brooke off to a designer contest but that fails.
She then begins to get closer and closer to Mouth, but they go their own way after she reveals that she was the one responsible for the Time Capsule incident, which led to Keith's death. It is also revealed that she used to be fat but was operated upon. She also had, between others her nose and breast done. Mouth falls for her again, but she has a crush on Nathan Scott's (James Lafferty) uncle Cooper Lee (Michael Trucco). He later breaks it up when he discovers that she is only 17. At the season three finale, Rachel and Cooper get into a car crash (caused by Rachel), and viewers are left with a cliffhanger as to who, if anyone, survives. She is also not pregnant (viewers were left with the question: who's pregnant?).
However she survives and becomes roommate with Brooke, ending their rivalery since Brooke is now at odd with Peyton. She tries to break Nathan and Haley up so that Nathan can replace Cooper but backs off when she discovers Haley's pregnancy. She then accidentally sets Brooke up with her English teacher. Brooke and her English teacher, Nick were doing okay until he hits on Rachel. Rachel reports this to the school and he is fired. Brooke later breaks up with Nick.

Rachel is a very emotional girl. She also can be very conniving and cruel as well as vindictive. She does have some redeeming features. She feels deeply for Cooper Lee and is very much in love with him. In one episode, She rescues a ridiculed and unpopular classmate named Jimmy Edwards from a group of jocks trying to beat him up. Many One Tree Hill fans feel Rachel is an evil character, but she is actually quite complex.
