Murder

Rachel Elizabeth Entwistle (née Souza) (December 14, 1979January 20, 2006) was the wife of Neil Entwistle, an unemployed British computer programmer. Rachel, along with her infant daughter, Lillian, were found in bed, shot to death in the master bedroom of their rented home in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. Rachel had been shot twice; once in her torso and once in the head. Lillian had been killed by a single gunshot to her torso. Around the time of the murders, Neil had left for England, where he is originally from. Rachel met Neil at the University of York in 1999. Three years later, they were married. In 2005, baby Lillian was born.

Rachel's family placed a scholarship in her name. It is called The Rachel Souza Memorial Scholarship Fund. It was set up for students at the Silver Lake Regional High School in Kingston, Massachusetts, the same school Rachel graduated from in 1997 before studying at the College of the Holy Cross. The family decided to use Rachel's maiden name instead of Neil's surname for the name of the scholarship.

She was a teacher at St. Augustine's Catholic High School in Redditch, teaching English and Drama. A special memorial mass was held, which was said to be the perfect way to say goodbye to "Enty", as students used to call her.

Rachel started teaching at St. Augustines in 2001, and her form was called 9SO, but the following year 10ES and 11ES. After her marriage she was still known as 'Miss Souza' even until she left the school to go back to America. Rachel was always willing to help others and never shied away from any activities.
