[edit] Character history
Rachel Barrett was the beautiful and free-spirited older sister of Katherine Barrett, and former fiancée of Alistair Crane. When she had changed her mind about marrying him, Alistair had faked her death and then held her captive for years, beating her and raping her whenever he wanted. She escaped at one point, then disappeared, faking her own death for many years.
She returned to Harmony shortly after Alistair married Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald . Alistair was terrified to see her alive and well, but Katherine was thrilled that her sister wasn't dead after all. Rachel soon regained the once-close relationship she had with her sister, and encouraged Katherine to pursue Martin Fitzgerald, even though he was married to Pilar Lopez-Fitzgerald. She also gave her niece Sheridan information that led Sheridan to Hawaii to search for Marty; Beth and Marty got away, fleeing to Rome.

[edit] Trivia
- Rachel Barrett has some uncanny similarities to the Days Of Our Lives character Rachel Blake. Rachel Blake was once the concubine of Stefano DiMera (who appears to be the inspiration for Alistair Crane). Her death was faked. She stalked Stefano and various other characters as the lady in white. James E Reilly was the writer for both Days and Passions.
