Rachael Ray, also known as The Rachael Ray Show, is a talk show starring Rachael Ray (from 30 Minute Meals and $40 a Day on Food Network) that debuted in syndication in the United States and Canada on September 18, 2006.[1] The hour-long daytime program is co-produced by Ray and Oprah Winfrey through her Harpo Productions and distributed domestically by King World Productions and globally by CBS Paramount International Television.
The concept behind this program is expected to focus on more than just her culinary skills and offer a lot of other positive/upbeat topics, stories, and ideas, along the lines of Winfrey's show. According to Ray, "People know me for my love of food, but I have so much more I want to share."
The set is unusual, in that the audience is seated on a large turntable that rotates so that the audience can always see the "action" on the circular stage that surrounds them.

[edit] Scheduling
As part of her deal with Winfrey, the TV stations that will air Ray's show cannot compete against Winfrey, but will be allowed to compete against another Winfrey-produced show, Dr. Phil, which means in various markets her show will air on a different station other than the station which paired Dr. Phil with Oprah or vice-versa (e.g., KIRO-TV/Seattle and WDJT/Milwaukee, which airs her show at 3PM opposite Dr. Phil on KING-TV and WISN-TV, respectively).
But in some markets, TV stations that air the latter two in the afternoon are airing Ray in mornings or middays, like WVLA/Baton Rouge, Louisiana, while in others they serve as a 'replacement' for either Oprah (KGTV/San Diego, except they air her show at 9AM instead of Winfrey's former 4PM slot) or Dr. Phil (like WTAE/Pittsburgh, which airs Ray in the Doctor's former 10AM timeslot).
In the New York City market, Ray's show airs on WABC-TV at 10AM, which is opposite what some call her arch competition, Martha on WNBC-TV. However, in most other markets their shows air in different time periods.
The show averages about 2.9 million viewers. (Daytime TV ratings)
