Raccoon Mountain Pumped-Storage Plant

Raccoon Mountain Pumped-Storage Plant is a pumped-storage hydroelectric underground power station. The lake covers 528 acres, and the dam is 230 feet high and 5800 feet long making it Tennessee Valley Authority's (TVA) largest hydroelectric facility[1]. Construction was started in 1970 and was completed in 1978. It can produce about 1600 megawatts of power.
Raccoon Mountain Pumped-Storage Plant is located near Chattanooga in the U.S. state of Tennessee.
