[edit] Gameplay
R:Racing is a racing-sim game that strives for realism, featuring over 33 licensed cars, and in-depth customization options sunch as braking, front wheel stabilizers, and car weight. Other features concerning gameplay include drifts (allowing optimum speed around corners), Nitro adjustments, and individual classes and attributes for every car. Finally, the game has a unique element referred to as the pressure meter, a fighting-esque meter that fills up as the player gets closer to a rival car; the higher the meter, the more possible chance the AI will have of making a mistake.
[edit] Modes
[edit] Racing Life
A mode which follows the racing career of Rena Hayami, as she struggles to deal with the busy life of a professional race car driver. The mode features 14 chapters, in which the player earns new cars, RP points for new purchases, and views CG movies proceeding every chapter.
[edit] Event Challenge
Allows the player to buy new cars, racetracks, and special races with their earned RP. Races include anything from Drag to one-on-one races, and the options for using a car are much more linient.
[edit] Time attack
Allows the player to choose any track and car to maximize their lap time on a track.
[edit] Arcade, V.S
Standard modes that allow the player to ethier compete in races that proceed in succession (Arcade), or play agaist a friend. No RP can be earned in this mode, but RP can be earned in versus mode.
[edit] Characters
[edit] Rena Hayami
The main Character of R:Racing Evolution. Emigrating from Japan to America right out of school, Rena led a busy but lonely life as a paramedic. A fateful meeting with Stephan sent her head-over-heels into the world of racing. Ever since her striking debut, she has been known to the racing world as the mysterious "Number 76".
[edit] Stephan Garnier
Manger of Rena's team, and a master mechanic, he was once a famous but overworked engineer. However, after a horrible racing accident, he suddenly disappeared for several years later resurfacing as the manager of an invincible racing team known as G.V.I.
[edit] Gina Cavalli
Gina is of Spanish descent and a talented driver who led the formerly low-rated Team Riccardi to the top of the racing world. Gina also must fend off numerous offers to become a supermodel and has stated that racing is her only true passion. She is also Rena's toughest opponent, and treats her with contempt early in her racing career, but becomes a friendly rival after the ending of Racing Life mode.
[edit] Trivia
- Real life professional racing is a sport that, similar to Football, is dominated by the male stereotype. R:Racing ignores this, as in Racing life, Rena and Gina clearly show off their cleavage whilst they compete, and none of the other characters makes mention of their gender whatsoever.
