Rabid Neurosis (RNS) is an MP3 warez release organization which was founded in 1996. In 1999, the group claimed to have ripped and released over 6,000 titles. The founder of RNS was a person using the alias "Al Capone". RNS occasionally used the tagline "Rabid Neurosis - Spread The Epidemic." They are famous for getting highly anticipated albums by Hip-Hop, Pop, Rock, and Dance artists weeks and sometimes months before release. RNS is widely believed to have started the mp3 scene. After their group initials were mentioned in an MTV News article about the early spread of an Eminem album, Encore, RNS ceased to include their initials in their filenames and ID3 tags.
