R68A (New York City Subway car)

R68A is a class of New York City Subway cars that were built in Kobe, Japan by Kawasaki Rail Car Company. There were 200 R68A cars built from 1988–89. They first entered into service in April 1988 on the D train. R68As are similar to R68s with some modifications. They are currently assigned to the N and Q services, and occasionally on the B, D and W services. The R68A fleet is based out of the Coney Island Complex.
