Rio Verde is a city located two hours away from San Luis Potosí, the third largest city in the state of San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

The population of its metropolitan area, which includes the cities of Ciudad Fernández, El Refugio and many little towns is almost 120,000. Also, the city is well known for its spring, called Media Luna. The city has been growing faster in the last four years. Rioverde (Green River) lives up to its name in its rich surroundings and round the year pleasant weather. It is the birth place of singer Ana Bárbara.

Rioverde is a city with a small town feel. While strolling on any given evening you will find housewives sitting outside their front doors while the little ones play around them, and young lovers staring into each others eyes while watchful fathers peer out the windows. It is in every sense a family place.

The Media Luna, or Half Moon is an old volcanic crater, filled with crystalline waters, and is a well known place for scuba divers who go there to practise in its warm waters.
