[edit] Canada provincial relief maps
I've come across the excellent relief maps you've done of BC and Alberta (Image:BC-relief.png and Image:AB-Relief.jpg)), and I was wondering (for private uses) if you have available similar maps for the other provinces. Tompw 23:59, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
- I didn't make relief maps for other provinces so far, but I have all the necessary data, so I could create them when I find the time (possibly this week). --Qyd 00:15, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

- That would be exteremely useful. Many thanks. Tompw 11:51, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- I've made a few more, you can find them in this gallery. --Qyd 15:40, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] New AB Towns map
Fantastic work. I love all the work you've been doing to AB-related geography articles lately. Keep up the fantastic work. However, on that map I don't see Westlock or Barrhead. What gives? Kevlar67 09:50, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
- Fixed, thanks for noticing. --Qyd 10:44, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Encentre-rendering1.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Encentre-rendering1.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Weatherford International
Good Morning, I work in the Weatherford Corporate Marketing department and it is imperative that we update this page with the corrected information. The current page has wrong logos and company information. All content has been approved by the Vice President of Marketing for Weatherford. If you are able to help me update this information the correct way, please let me know. I am new to Wiki. Do you work for Weatherford? Please let me know where you have been receiving the current information if possible. I appreciate any help you might be able to provide in ensuring the page gets updated correctly.
Best Regards, Karen Vollmering 06:53, 18 October 2006
Qyd: Do you work for Weatherford? If so, please let me know if you can be of assistance in updating the page because the current information is out of date and not accurate. Also, the logo's are broken links and need to be corrected as well.
Thanks for your help. Karen Vollmering Web Communications Weatherford International 713.386.8968
- No, I don't work for WI. Certainly, update the information (add links/references to sources as well). The current logos work fine here (but there's been glitches at upload.wikipedia today). Cheers. --Qyd 21:31, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] South Nahanni River
Hi, I'm the one who started the South Nahanni River article and noticed that you've contributed a few times. It's the first article I've started, and I hope to be able to flesh it out and hopefully get good article status or featured article status. Right now the scope is a bit overwhelming, and it's nice to see someone else contributing to the article. Anyway, I thought I'd let you know I appreciate seeing another face there. Ooops, I didn't check the name from flickr with the uploader is the same. I've reverted it back. Thanks for notifying me. ;-) — Indon (reply) — 17:12, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re: BC Wikiproject
I'd love to release it, but have you asked everyone else yet for any last-minute improvements? Otherwise, I'll likely release it next week or so. -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 03:44, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Apartments and housing for rent in Canadian cities....
Hello,
I noticed the links we posted for Calgary/Edmonton rental housing were removed? Would'nt these external links prove to be a valuable reference to anyone searching for rental housing in these cities?
Any comments would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
The Rent Board of Canada www.rentboard.ca —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rentboard (talk • contribs) 08:54, November 5, 2006.
[edit] Re: Rental housing in Canadian cities ...
Hello,
Thank-you for your clarification on the types of links that are allowed.
Looking deeper into some of the external links that currently exist for "Edmonton", it would appear that the "Edmonton Dining" link (http://www.edmontondining.com/) should be marked as "spam" as well. The above site is no different from ours -- it allows visitors to view ads for free, but charges for advertising, ie:
http://www.edmontondining.com/restaurants/advertising/edmontondining_rates.pdf
I do think however, that sites like ours, which do offer a valuable service (ie: housing) should be included -- logically, it is no different from sites that offer other types of services within a given city, ie: news, sports, city attractions, etc.
However, I do respect and support the Wikipedia initiative, and will not re-post any links until such time that a "Housing" topic is present in each city.
Sincerely,
The Rent Board of Canada http://www.rentboard.ca

[edit] Wild rose drawing
I was wondering if I can use that wild rose drawing of yours as a small part of a logo? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Quackgrassacrez (talk • contribs) 20:26, 19 November 2006.
- Image:Wildrose-drawing.png is licenced under PD, meaning you can use it for any purpose. Thanks for asking though. Qyd 20:54, 19 November 2006

[edit] Assessment for WPCANADA
Can you give me some examples of articles I put in the wrong class? I gave an A-rating to any article that looked fairly long without being full of fluff that had good references. --Arctic Gnome 01:55, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I'll keep an eye out for that stuff when tagging articles' class. However, I have to disagree with you about the lists. The criteria to be a featured list is quite a bit easier than to be a featured article. I think most list that are complete, have references, and aren't trivial could be nominated for featured status under WP:FL, and would therefore be A-class. --Arctic Gnome 18:10, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "Calgaty [sic] Zoo"
I guess I was thrown by the two things: 1) the editor was from an anonymous IP address with an atrocious record of vandalism. 2) The edits included "Calgaty". Thanks for handling the reversion calmly. Hu 01:34, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
