[edit] Photo Request
I would like to ask you to take a photo for me. I recently created the article Berge Stahl, and she comes into to Rotterdam about once every five weeks. I was hoping you could get me one to add to the article?
Thanks, WikiDon 02:58, 14 October 2005 (UTC)
- Hi WikiDon,
- If I know when the Berge Stahl will be in Rotterdam, and I am not on a business trip or holiday when that happens, I can take a picture - no problem. Can you give me some info? -- Quistnix 00:06, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Route 66
Please stop changing the interlanguage links on Route 66. I am finding the Route 66 articles in other languages being changed to "Interstate 66" and they should go to "U.S. Route 66". I-66 and US 66 are not the same thing. The Bulgarian article is on I-66, not US 66 and should not connect there. I've went back and changed all French, Esperanto, German, and Dutch articles to link to "U.S. Route 66" and removed the Bulgarian article links. Thank you.Rt66lt 16:01, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
- My robot makes thousands of changes, and is not creating interwiki links on its own. So somewhere someone else is continuously reverting the changes. Thank you for solving the problem for now, but I would appreciate it if you would help to find out who keeps reverting your changes. I am not. -- Quistnix 16:14, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
- It looks like you've solved the puzzle. I cannot find any more links that are causing my bot to add the wrong interwiki links. -- Quistnix 16:22, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
Sure, take your car and make that trip and get your thrill on route 66, the original one, while Intrstate 66 is the newer one. On the Easy Coast you get the Interstate 95 from New England down to Florida, while US1 is the older one going thru VA (Virginia) to the Keys, FL (Florida).

[edit] RobotQuistnix
I notice your bot, RobotQuistnix, has been adding interlanguage links to User: pages on some non-English Wikipedias (including mine). This is probably not a good idea. In my case, for example, I've decided to include only interlang links to my English user page from the other languages and not from English to anywhere else, nor between any of my non-English user pages (because I rarely check my non-English user pages and the interwiki linking makes it too easy for a vandal to rapidly visit all of them). There's actually another issue that doesn't affect me, but might affect other users: just because there are two user pages on different languages that are named the same doesn't actually mean they're the same person. So I think you should prevent your bot from changing pages in the User: namespace. (Optionally, you could provide an opt-out mechanism, to be mentioned in the edit summary, for users who, like me, don't want to "participate" in this bot's activities.) - dcljr (talk) 01:14, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Category:Remarkable categories
I have nominated your category, Remarkable categories, for deletion. You may view the discussion at Wikipedia:Categories_for_deletion/Log/2006_July_18#Remarkable categories. It was nominated due to basically just being stuff you found interesting, an indiscriminate collection of information, and otherwise non-helpful to anyone else. If you wanted to, you could always make a subpage to your user page to contain them instead. User:Quistnix/Interesting categories, for example. --tjstrf 19:17, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
- Not quite. I was surprised to actually see the categories listed in that category on Wikipedia. What policy does en.wikipedia hav for creating categories? - Quistnix 22:18, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
- They have to be clearly defined, objective, and non-trivial. See the Categories for deletion policies page. --tjstrf 22:21, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
