The station serves Malate in Manila and is located at the meeting point of Taft Avenue, Quirino Avenue and San Andres Street. The station is named after Quirino Avenue, which is in turn named after former president Elpidio Quirino.
Quirino Avenue station is the sixth station for trains headed to Monumento and the thirteenth station for trains headed to Baclaran.
Because of its position in Malate, the station is near places such as the Manila Zoo and the offices of the Bureau of Plant Industry. It is also close to some of Malate's entertainment areas near the Remedios Circle and M. Adriatico Street, which are also nearby.
